Sainik Aramghar/ Rest Houses for Indian Defence Personnel
There are about 20 lacs Ex-Servicemen and 4 lacs widows exist across the country as per the latest record available. These Ex-Servicemen community whenever they visit their respective Zila Sainik Board/ Rajya Sainik Board for various purposes such as resettlement problems, medical treatment, legal, pension, availing canteen facilities etc and other important towns/ cities for medical treatment or pilgrimage/ sightseeing etc, they need a decent and affordable accommodation to stay for a short duration. For this purpose, many Sainik Rest houses are constructed at various places throughout the country. The concerned Rajya/ Zila Sainik Boards are maintaining these Rest Houses. Holiday Homes and Touring Officers Hostels
- Directorate of Estates administers the booking of Holiday Homes and Touring Officers’ Hostels (TOH) of Government of India which are maintained by the Central Public Works Department.
- All the Holiday Homes and Touring Officers’ Hostels have various types of rooms to cater to the different requirements of guests.
- All Holiday Homes and TOH bookings and payments are made online through the eSampada website and mobile app.
- The bookings are done on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis subject to fulfilment of prescribed eligibility, time limit and payment of booking charges, etc.
