Paternity Leave on Birth of a Child
Defence services personnel may be sanctioned Paternity Leave of 15 days on the birth of a child, subject to the following conditions:-
- Service personnel should have less than two surviving children.
- Leave to be granted during the period of confinement of his wife i.e. up to a period of 15 days before or up to six months from the date of delivery of the child.
- Paternity Leave may be combined with Annual Leave.
Paternity leave for child adoption
Defence services personnel may be sanctioned Paternity Leave of 15 days on the adoption of a child, subject to the following conditions:-

- Service personnel should have less than two surviving children.
- Children should be below the age of one year on the date of valid adoption.
- Paternity Leave may be combined with Annual Leave.
