Movement Control Office (ARMY MCO) is dedicated to making rail reservations for military personnel. Initially, Railways were meant for the military only! So, bear in mind, when a military staff finds accommodation difficult! They are eligible for the highest consideration. So, I am providing the list of all MCO Contact Numbers in this post.
Introduction of Army MCO
Full form of MCO is Movement Control Office. MCO is a help desk for serving and retired Indian defence services personnel at various major railway stations. Army MCO manages the Defence Department Quota (DDQ) in trains, providing priority reservations for defence personnel with urgent travel needs. It is confirmed seats through quota in Indian Railway for Indian Armed Forces which Army, Navy and Airforce defence persons and their family can utilise by ARMY MCO at railway station.
Defence Quota for Defence Person through Army MCO
By Defence quota, there are some seats reserved in 1A, 2AC, 3AC and sleeper class of Indian Railways but a defence person only gets a confirmed seat when he has a waitlisted ticket and for a confirmed ticket through ARMY MCO it will confirm the seat. How to use these MCO Phone Number
- General Inquiries: Use the MCO contact number for general inquiries about railway reservations and defence quotas.
- Railway Reservations: Contact the MCO for priority reservations under the Defence Department Quota (DDQ).
- Emergency Travel: Army MCO allow defence personnel to make priority reservations for urgent travel needs.
- Exclusive Quota: The MCO manages the Defence Department Quota (DDQ) in trains, ensuring that defence personnel have access to reserved seats and berths even at short notice.
Additional Facilities in MCO
MCO offices provide various facilities, including waiting rooms (offering amenities like TVs, urinals and bathrooms), and lodging and boarding facilities exclusively for defence personnel.
Procedure to avail of DD Quota from MCO
- DDO is meant for emergency movement of tps mainly for TD or unplanned leave for serving defence personnel and their family, thereafter, allotted on a First Come First Serve Basis to serving persons. Leftover seats may be allotted to Ex-Servicemen and their families.
- Booking against DDQ can be done a maximum of 30 days before the date of the journey.
- DD Quota will be allowed only on wait-listed tickets and not on RAC tickets.
- Res of DDQ will also be entertained through official letter, fax and signal only.
- Telephonic requests for reservation of DDQ will not be entertained.
- Defence commuters must carry an identity card/ dependent card while booking DDQ. Without showing an identity Card/dependent card, the tickets will not booked through DDQ.
- Cancellation of reservation through DD quota should be informed to MCO strictly 24 h before departure of train.
